We are a product design and development organization giving students the opportunity to pursue projects in a community that fosters innovation and creativity. Members work together in self-motivated teams, utilizing Makers’ resources and network to MAKE and inspire.

Makers UIUC believes in learning beyond the classroom. We are dedicated to providing our members with hands-on experience and real-world exposure, as well as the resources needed to succeed in developing projects they're passionate about. We believe everyone can create.

Become a Maker Today.

Current Projects

Makers UIUC understands that teamwork and networking is the heart of successful product development. Members from various backgrounds and disciplines merge in weekly and group-arranged meetings, where they work together in developing their ideas from the first to final stages. This includes, but is not limited to, analyzing, brainstorming, conceptualizing, prototyping, resourcing, testing, and collecting feedback to improve their designs.

Motorized Nerf Gun

This project is based on our passion for Nerf guns. We're designing a remote controlled, fully automatic, Nerf shooter. We'd like to keep this project open-ended so that there will be opportunities for expansions such as mounting the Nerf shooter on a turret, turning it into a sentry gun.

I am a junior studying electrical engineering and am interested in semiconductor electronics and control systems. I joined Makers because I love learning about how things work, and I think the best way to learn how something works is to build it for yourself!
